I grew up in Minsk, Belarus. I received Masters in Applied Math and Computer science from Belarusian National Technical University and Nova Southeastern University and worked in IT. In my mid twenties I moved to Southern Louisiana to my husband's hometown. An artistic impulse hidden deeply for years lead me to study painting with artists inspired by teachings of Henry Hensche: Dorothy Biliu-Hensche, Sammy Britt, Stephen Perkins and Dianne Trevino. I was very lucky to live in the proximity to these awesome painters, who preserved and refined impressionists' painting traditions.
I later studied portrait and figure with instructors in Studio Incamminati. The New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts became another wonderful source for my artistic development. There I studied figure and portrat drawing with Carol Peebles and Auseklis Ozols.
In my work, I rely on and try to refine the language of color and light to portray the subject before me. I work in oil, pastels, and charcoal. My favorite subjects are people and nature.
I lived in New Orleans for the most of my life in US. Several years ago my husband and I moved to Southern California. This great opportunity of painting outdoors year round is amazing for practicing Hensche's and Impressionists' philosophy.
